What Social Graphic Maker does, with a checked example
Social Graphic Maker is a design surface for composing posts from text, images, and a saved brand kit - logo, colors, and fonts - at the sizes Instagram, X, and LinkedIn actually display. You choose a platform preset (Instagram square, X 16:9, LinkedIn post), place the elements, and export one flattened image sized for that feed. The common mistake is designing before choosing a preset, or reusing one export across platforms: the canvas shows the whole design, but each feed crops or fits it differently, so a square post forced into a 16:9 space gets stretched or cut.
Worked example
A concrete input and expected output from the current implementation.
Input
Preset: Instagram square post. Text: 'Launching Friday, 9 AM ET', shop logo, teal background.
->
Expected output
A 1080 x 1080 px canvas with the headline as an editable text layer, the logo placed, and the teal fill applied; export returns a PNG at 1080 x 1080 px.
Instagram displays feed images at a maximum of 1080 px wide, so the square preset fixes the canvas at 1080 x 1080 px, the size the feed renders; the tool works at display size, not print size.
