What Statistic Number Designer does and how it behaves

A statistic callout is one number carrying a claim, and this tool sets that number into a poster-like graphic: the figure large, its unit beside it, a label beneath, and an optional context line at the foot. You fill a text field for each part, pick colors and arrangement, and the tool renders the finished composition. The surprise is that it typesets rather than calculates: it shows exactly the text you type, with no rounding, number formatting, or verification. A figure of 4,7 stays 4,7 at any size.

Four-part text structure

The graphic is assembled from separate fields for the number, the unit, the label, and the context line. The number is rendered at the largest size with the unit aligned to it, the label sits beneath it, and the context line anchors the bottom. Because each part is typed into its own field, every part can be sized, colored, and positioned independently.

Rendering, not computing

The tool treats every entry as display text. Commas, decimal points, percent signs, and currency symbols appear exactly as typed, and nothing is rounded or validated. Changing the figure to 1000 does not adjust a unit of 'k'. What you type is what the graphic shows, so the arithmetic and the formatting are yours to check before export.

Good uses

  • A hero statistic on a landing page or report cover, where a single number carries the section's main claim.
  • A row of KPI callouts in a dashboard or slide deck that need one consistent look across several metrics.
  • A social post or newsletter stat card pairing the figure with a short context line such as 'up 12% year over year'.

Limits and checks

  • The tool does no math. A figure typed as 12,483.6 is displayed as 12,483.6; if that figure is wrong, the graphic is wrong, because nothing recalculates or rounds it.
  • The proportions between number, unit, and label are the tool's defaults, not measured against your layout. On a wide but short space a very large figure can dominate or clip, so review the graphic at the actual dimensions you will publish, not only in the editor.
  • Small context lines in a secondary color are the easiest element to lose. If the label or context line uses a pale tint, check its contrast against the chosen background at final size, especially for print or projection.

Common questions

Can I put the percent sign in the number field?

You can, but it will be treated as part of the figure text and sized with it. If the tool has a separate unit field, put '%' or 'M' there instead, so the unit renders at its own smaller size beside the number. The distinction only affects appearance; either way the tool renders what you typed.

Does the tool check my numbers or pull data from somewhere?

No. It composes a graphic from the text you provide and has no source of data to verify against. Every figure, unit, label, and context line is displayed verbatim, so proofread the values against your source data before you export. The final image is only as accurate as the typing that went into it.
