What Device Mockup Frame Generator does and how it behaves

A bare screen capture becomes a presentation image with recognizable hardware around it. Provide the capture, select an iPhone, MacBook, iPad or Android frame, and export the combined result as PNG. The frame is visual context only: it does not convert an iOS interface into Android, or a desktop layout into a tablet layout. The usual surprise is sizing. The exported image represents the whole framed composition, so its canvas should not be assumed to match the screenshot's original pixel dimensions.

How the result is produced

Frame composition

Provide a screenshot as the screen content, then choose among the available iPhone, MacBook, iPad or Android frames. The generator makes a single visual composition in which the screenshot occupies the device's display area and the surrounding frame supplies the bezel, body or laptop hardware. The screenshot is being presented in context; its interface is not converted into another platform.

PNG export

PNG export records the visible mockup as one raster image, including both screenshot and device frame. It does not create an editable hardware model, a responsive web preview or an interactive prototype. Because the frame occupies space outside the displayed screenshot, treat the exported canvas as a new composition rather than as the original screenshot with decorative metadata.

Preparing a landing-page hero for an iPhone app when an actual product screen needs recognizable phone hardware around it before the image is passed to a web designer.
Putting a desktop dashboard capture into a MacBook frame for a pitch deck, customer case study or release announcement where a bare rectangular screenshot would not communicate the intended device.
Building a coordinated set of iPad and Android presentation images for design review, allowing the same campaign to show each platform in an appropriate device context without drawing frames manually.

Limits and checks

Confirm that the selected frame visually matches the hardware you intend to represent. A family label such as iPhone or Android does not, by itself, establish an exact device generation, physical size, screen resolution or production color.
Compare the screenshot's aspect ratio with the visible screen opening. Inspect the result for missing edges, unused space or distortion rather than assuming that any phone screenshot will fit every phone frame correctly.
Remove unwanted material from the source capture first. A screenshot that already includes a bezel, surrounding background or desktop window border can create nested framing when that material is placed inside another device frame.

Common questions

Can choosing an Android frame turn an iPhone screenshot into an Android design?

No. The frame changes the screenshot's outside presentation, not its interface, proportions, fonts, status bar or navigation conventions. Use an Android capture when the result must depict an Android product faithfully. Showing iPhone pixels inside an Android shell is appropriate only when that mismatch is intentional.

Does the screenshot leave the browser?

No. The screenshot and generated mockup are processed in the browser, and this tool does not upload them. The exported PNG is saved from that browser session. This does not remove confidential details visible in the capture, so redact account names, notifications, access tokens and customer information before distributing the finished mockup.
