Test the final asset with multiple cameras or scanning apps, at its intended physical or on-screen size, and from the expected viewing distance.

Limits and checks

The embedded picture is not recovered by scanning. A scanner returns only the QR payload, such as a URL or text, while the center image remains visual decoration.
Scannability is not guaranteed across devices. An oversized center image can hide too many useful modules even when the code still works with one scanner.
A successful scan of the large preview does not validate a small print. Resizing, compression, glare, cropping, and insufficient blank space around the symbol can change the result.

Common questions

Can I place any photograph or logo in the center?

Not every image is equally suitable. Detailed photographs can lose recognizable detail at small sizes, while a large image can obscure more of the encoded module pattern. Prefer a compact image with a clear silhouette. Keep the surrounding QR pattern unobstructed, preserve blank space outside the symbol, and test the final rendered asset at exactly the size you intend to use.

Does a successful scan prove that the encoded link works?

No. A successful scan shows that the scanner recovered the payload from the QR symbol. It does not prove that a destination is live, safe, correctly typed, or available to every viewer. Scan the completed code, compare the recovered text with the intended payload, and separately open any encoded URL before printing or distributing the design.
