It is suited to tags that will be printed, cut out, and attached to a present with ribbon, cord, or string. The important distinction is that the hole-punch mark is only a printed placement guide. It does not create a physical hole, so the finished tag still needs to be punched after printing and cutting.

How the result is produced

Compose the tag

Enter the recipient in the "To" field and the giver in the "From" field, then configure the tag shape and hole-punch marking. These elements form one printable gift-tag design. Review how the names fit within the chosen outline, especially when either entry is long or contains multiple names.

Print and finish

Print the completed design on suitable paper or card stock, cut around the tag shape, and punch the paper at the indicated mark. Browser and printer scaling can change the physical size of the tag and its margins. A test print is useful before committing decorative paper or a full sheet of card stock.

Good uses

Create a recipient label for a wrapped birthday present when a handwritten tag would not match the rest of the wrapping.
Prepare coordinated "To" and "From" tags for holiday gifts, then print them on card stock and attach them with ribbon through the marked punch position.

Limits and checks

Treat the hole-punch mark as a guide, not as part of the finished decoration. Confirm that its location leaves enough surrounding paper to resist tearing after a real hole is punched.
Do not infer final dimensions from the on-screen view alone. Printer settings such as scale, fit-to-page behavior, margins, and paper size can alter the tag's printed size or move it on the sheet.
Inspect every personalized name before printing. Long names, joint recipients, honorifics, or a lengthy giver line need more room than short entries and may make the selected tag shape feel crowded.

Common questions

Does the maker cut the tag or create the punched hole?

No. It creates a printable tag design that includes the shape and a visual punch guide. After printing, you must cut the tag from the paper and use a physical hole punch if you want to thread ribbon or cord through it. The printed mark alone does not open the paper.

Will the printed tag exactly match its size on screen?

Not necessarily. Screen zoom does not establish physical print size, and a printer may shrink or reposition the page when options such as "Fit" are enabled. Check the print preview and scaling controls, then make a test print on ordinary paper if the tag must fit a particular gift or ribbon.
