What Browser Fingerprint Tester does and how it behaves

This tester gathers the fingerprinting signals exposed by the browser you are using, including canvas output, WebGL characteristics, audio-context behavior, detectable fonts, and navigator properties. It places those observations in one report so you can judge whether your present configuration stands out and compare it with another setup. The frequent mistake is treating a distinctive result as a permanent personal identifier. It is a snapshot of a browser and device environment, and any uniqueness claim is meaningful only relative to the population used for comparison.

Signal collection

The page reads the signal categories named in the report: navigator properties, canvas output, WebGL characteristics, audio-context behavior, and detectable fonts. Some values are browser properties; others are observations from rendering or processing a known task. The combined report describes what this browser session exposes to page scripts, rather than information supplied manually.

Combined fingerprint

Fingerprinting depends on the combination of fields. A common navigator value may add little distinction alone, while its combination with graphics, audio, and font results can narrow the set of similar configurations. The tester provides a snapshot of the current browser and device environment; browser, graphics, font, extension, or privacy-setting changes may produce a different profile.

Good uses

  • Compare a standard browser profile with a privacy-hardened profile to see which canvas, WebGL, audio, font, and navigator signals differ.
  • Check whether installing an extension or changing an anti-fingerprinting setting alters the information visible to page scripts.
  • Capture browser-exposed differences when a website treats two apparently similar devices as different clients.

Limits and checks

  • A claim of uniqueness requires a comparison population. A rare-looking combination in this report is not proof that it is globally unique.
  • Browser updates, graphics drivers, installed fonts, extensions, private-browsing modes, and privacy protections can change the reported fingerprint.
  • Blocked, reduced, or randomized values do not guarantee anonymity. An unusual protection configuration can itself contribute a distinctive signal.

Common questions

Does a unique-looking fingerprint identify me by name?

No. Distinctiveness is about how unusual a combination of browser signals appears, not about a person's civil identity. A fingerprint can become identifying when another party links it to an account, address, or prior activity, but this tester alone cannot establish that link.

Does this test upload my fingerprint data?

No. The analysis runs entirely in your browser, and nothing it observes is uploaded by this tool. That does not mean the same signals are private on the web: other pages with permitted scripts may inspect many browser-exposed properties. The tester shows exposure; it does not block collection.
